One person has been confirmed dead while another person is in critical condition after armed robbers attacked Community Consult Limited (Bank Agent) at Buokrom Estate Juction a suburb of Kumasi in the Manhyia North Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
An eyewitness narrated the unfortunate incident in an interview with Pure Fm said “the robbers stormed the bank agency yesterday June 1, 2021, during banking working hours and ordered the bank staff to give them all the money in their possession”.
According to him, “customers and workers who were at the bank when the incident occurred had their phones and money taken away by the armed robbers”.
“The deceased who is yet to be identified believed to be a car dealer and a customer of the bank. He went to the bank after calling one teller in the bank for several minutes but the teller failed to answer his calls. He went to meet the robbers and he was shot after he attempted to call the police” Eyewitness explained.
Police confirmed the incident indicating that the robbers took away GHc140,000 from the bank, including mobile phones and other valuable items belonging to the workers and the customers who were at the time of the robbery.
