The founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, has stated that he has extended a public invitation to the leader and founder of the Movement for Change, Mr. Alan Kyerematen, to be his running mate in the upcoming December 2024 elections.

“I have sent an invitation out there to Mr. Kyerematen to partner with me since his visions are the same as mine.” GUM Founder told GNA

Outlining some of his policies, Rev. Andrews stated that the GUM supported the free port system and that “heavy” taxes on machinery imported into the country hampered industrial investment.

Regarding employment, he stated that economic policies should focus on jobs that add value to the country’s resources rather than the service sector.

“Jobs in the service institutions do not add any economic value to the country. If you want to create jobs, we should focus on the production sector and create value,” he said.

Touching on preparations towards the 2024 General Election, Rev. Andrews said the Party will, in March this year, open nominations for interested persons to pick parliamentary forms at the various constituencies.
