St. James Seminary SHS’s Amo-Kodieh Leonard adjudged best 2023 WASSCE candidate

A student of St. James Seminary SHS, in the Bono regional capital, Sunyani, Amo-Kodieh Leonard Kofi Marton has been adjudged the overall best candidate for 2023 WASSCE.

Master Amo-Kodieh Leonard Kofi Marton placed first in the 2023 West Africa Secondary School Exam (WASSCE) for school candidates both in Ghana and the best candidate out of the 2,327,342 candidates from five-member countries.

At an award ceremony organized by WAEC on Thursday June 13, Master Dzandu Selorm from Labone Senior High School, emerged the first runner-up, while Master Daniel Asenso-Gyambibi also from St. James Seminary was the second runner-up.

Other award winners were Laudina Adutwumwaa from St Monica’s Senior High School who emerged the best candidate in General Arts, Kwasi Asare Adjei-Fordjour from St Augustine’s College, Cape Coast winning the best candidate in Business and Akosua Adjei Boateng from Juaso Senior High Technical School, Juaso- Ashanti also adjudged best candidate in Technical.

In March this year, Leonard, Selorm and Daniel were awarded at the 72nd Annual WAEC Council Meeting in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Last year, Alex Opoku Manu also from St. James Seminary SHS was adjudged the overall best candidate for 2022 WASSCE.
