Lawyer Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah has won the New Patriotic Party’s Manhyia South Parliamentary primary with some 376 votes.
Following the confirmation of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate for the 2024 elections, the Manhyia South constituency seat became vacant resulting in the party electing a candidate to contest for the seat.
A total of 568 delegates were expected to vote to choose from four candidates.
At the end of polls on Sunday July 14, Lawyer Nana Adjei Baffour secured a total of 376 votes.
Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, the brother of incumbent MP Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh polled 141 votes while James Owusu and Akwasi Coker Gyambibi had 7 and 2 votes respectively.
Prior to the polls Prof. Smart Sarpong’s science and data research tipped Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah to win the Manhyia South Parliamentary Primary.
