The Coalition for Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has hinted to deploy 4,000 observers nationwide ahead of the December Polls.
This declaration was made known by Dr. Kojo Asante during an interview on Asaase radio on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
According to him, these personnel will help monitor and verify results from the election.
“Come election time we will deploy up to 4,000 observers across the country and as we have done in previous elections since 2008, we will deploy the parallel vote tabulation that will allow us to independently verify the presidential results as well”, he stated.
Dr. Kojo Asante further indicated that, CODEO has put measures in place to combat misinformation and disinformation that may lead to any form of violence.
“We have other complementary interventions around disinformation and misinformation with other civil society organisations because we think that is also going to be a big challenge,” he added.
He also noted that, the 4,000 observers will be stationed at all the polling stations across all 275 constituencies in the 16 regions of Ghana, to monitor the electoral process and ensure transparency and fairness.
