The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested three individuals for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition during a security operation conducted on April 30, 2025.
The suspects—Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab—were apprehended while traveling aboard a Grand Bird Bus with registration number AS 4431-22, which was headed to Wassa Akropong.
During a routine search, police recovered a submachine gun (SMG) rifle and twenty-one rounds of ammunition concealed in the possession of suspect Hakeem Imoro. Preliminary investigations revealed that the weapon was allegedly handed to him by his employer for safekeeping.
All three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities say they will be arraigned before the court in due course.
