An 11 year old girl has died after a fire outbreak in a house at Meduma in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday.
The incident which occurred around 1:30pm, destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis.
Fire officer, after bringing situations under control, handed over the body of the girl to the police, which has been deposited at the mortuary .
Speaking with Citi News, the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, D.O. III, Peter Addai said investigations have commenced to look into the cause of the fire.
According to him, around 1:57pm, they had a call that there was a fire in a house at Meduma near Komfo Anokye SHS.
They swiftly responded and when they got to the scene, the fire surrounded the whole house and was at its fully developed stage. They managed to put it under control and extinguished it. But unfortunately, an 11 year old girl lost her life as a result.
