Residents of Adansi Apagya in the Adansi South district of the Ashanti Region have given the government of Ghana a two-week ultimatum to open the Apagya Community Day School to enable their children to get access to quality education infrastructure.
According to them, former President John Dramani Mahama constructed one of his community day schools in Adansi Apagya during his term in office but could not complete it before living in office; the current government has abandoned the structure.
This has left residents and youth of Apagya to send a strong word of caution to the government of Ghana, especially President Akufo-Addo, Education Minister Hon. Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, Regional Minister Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, District Chief Executive of the Adansi South District Hon. Francis Kwabena Ankomah, and the Member of Parliament for New Edubiase Constituency Hon. Adams Abdul Salam.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, Sir Dacosta indicated that the people of Adansi Apagya are tired of the empty promises the current government keeps making.
They are, however, pleading with authorities to ensure that the school is completed and fully operational so that all of their children can be educated.
He added that the youth will put up a massive demonstration if their plea is not given the needed urgency.
