The chief and people of Anwiankwanta community in the Amansie East district of the Ashanti Region, have expressed worries over lack of social amenities in the area, thus calling on authorities to come to their aid, so as to alleviate the suffering of the people.

“Despite persistent appeals to opinion leaders and the Assembly on the urgent need to provide basic amenities in our community, nothing has been done to alleviate our plight in the area. We lack roads, drainage system, portable water and people defecate about any how, causing another problem for the community”, the residents lamented.

“The residents of the community have been neglected of the provision of roads, potable water and a toilet facility. A situation the Berkwai Municipal assembly is supposed to have done everything possible to address without delay”.

Residents urged, the government to deem it necessary to focus on the rapid infrastructural development in the community.

According to Nana Afrifa Kwakye, the new Abenkyim Benkumhene of Anwiankwanta, has expressed disappointment in the way the government has neglected a Palm processing factory initiated by Mr Appiah Menka to rot.

Nana Afrifa Kwakye ( Benkumhene) charged the government to pay immediate attention to the abandoned Palm processing Factory in the town.

Nana Benkumhene said, the absence of a drainage system, toilet facility, portable water in the community has worsen the situation in the area, and thus calling on Assembly, individual, NGO’s and the government to assist the community in constructing a new toilet facility for the people, to an existing dilapidated one which has seen no renovation for several years.

He promised to uphold peace and unity for the progress of his township and bring infrastructure development to the community.
