Traditional council and the Residents of Bomfa -Anyinase in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti region have descended heavily on their Chief Nana Appiah Kubi for selling his own land to illegal miners in the Community.

The Traditional Council has accused the Chief for flouting Anti Galamsey orders by the President by selling lands for such illegal activities.

Investigations revealed that, galamsey operation is seriously going on in the Anyinase Community at present but the allegations about the chief giving out lands for such activities cannot be explained.

Opanin Kwabena Korang who is part of the Elders of the Chief and a member of the Opinion leaders emphatically stated that, it is true that, the Chief Nana Appiah Kubi has sold a parcel of land for galamsey operation in the Community.

In his assertions, he said the DCE for Bosome Freho District, Hon. Yaw Danso is a closed friend to the Chief which he (DCE) is also aware of the Chief’s act of selling lands for such illegal activities.

Opanin Kwabena Korang also said the DCE had even sent some officials from the Assembly to monitor the Situation in the Community but since he’s a closed friend to the chief, no action has been taken against the Operation

Efforts to get the Chief of the town to react to the allegations have proven futile.
