Two people, husband and wife have been killed in Ahenema Kokoben in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti Region, on Sunday after their single room building collapsed when they were asleep.
Chief Inspector Emmanuel Opoku Addai, Ahenema Kokoben police station officer, confirmed the death of the couples, Madam Joyce Laweh, 42, and Banda Doyi, 32, saying the bodies have been rushed to hospital and that the police has launched investigation to fish out what caused the incident, though it was reported by the residents that a certain nearby wall firstly collapsed and push the building that were containing the deceased.
“It’s unfortunate that two people have been confirmed dead”, he said.
The DCE for Atwima Kwanwoma district, Hon. Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi spoke to Wontumi Fm saying on his intelligent view, revealed that, the incident was caused by heavy rainfall.
The bodies have since been deposited at Komfo Anokye teaching hospital morgue waiting for autopsy.
