A/R: GWCL clarifies intermittent water scarcity in Kumasi Metropolis 

Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has said its intermittent supply of water in Kumasi Metropolis on Monday, January 9, 2023, is due to the inadequate supply of electricity power on the part of Electricity Company of Ghana (EGC-Kumasi) to the Barekese Water Treatment Plant and the Achiase Booster Station.

Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has said its intermittent supply of water in Kumasi Metropolis on Monday, January 9, 2023, is due to the inadequate supply of electricity power on the part of Electricity Company of Ghana (EGC-Kumasi) to the Barekese Water Treatment Plant and the Achiase Booster Station.

In a statement released by GWCL dated 10th of January, 2023, GWCL apologised to its customers in Kumasi Metropolis for the unfortunate happening and has assured that engineers of Ghana Water Company Limited and Electricity Company of Ghana are currently on site, working on the problem to resolve it as soon as possible to provide adequate water for their customers.

“We sincerely apologise to our cherished customers. We are assuring you that, measures have been put in place to rectify the problem as soon as possible.

Ghana Water Company Limited engineers, together with the engineers of Electricity Company of Ghana are on site working to ensure adequate supply of water in the Kumasi Metropolis and surrounding areas”, part of the statement read.
