Police in Kuntenase in the Ashanti region have picked up suspect Rashid Ibrahim for the cold blooded murder of Israel Agyei Manu, head teacher of Rogel Montessori Basic School at Atonsu Kumasi and owner of the Bolt service Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GE 3170-21.
Suspect who initially gave an untenable alibi to Police later confessed to committing the crime and led police to retrieve the matchete which he allegedly used to behead the deceased at Feyiase New Site on 4th July, 2021. Suspect is in Police custody pending arraignment before Court.
Police commend community members who volunteered their observation of movement of neighbours and strangers alike to Police, leading to the arrest.
Police assures them of the strictest confidentiality and appeals to such informants to desist from blowing their own cover by bragging about such exploits.
Headmaster beheaded at Feyiase
Sadden information gathered indicates that, a 33-year-old headmaster of Rogel Montessori School at Atonsu in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti has been murdered.
The body of the headmaster, Israel Agyei Mensah was found beheaded at Feyiase in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
A search team of the police and community members led to the retrieval of the head few metres away from the body.
Ascertaining the fact of the matter from the assembly member of the area, Hon. Samuel Yaw Kwai aka Bongo that, a woman in the area said to have heard a loud cry nearby which ceased briefly.
Samuel Kwai added that, section of the residents later found the beheaded body of Mr. Mensah dumped on a pathway in the area.
It took the intervention of a search team led by the assembly member to find the head together with a mobile phone and wallet containing cash metres away from the body. Samuel Kwai says the deceased is unknown to them.
The head was found with many machete cuts. It was unearthed that, Israel was a headmaster but uses his private white Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GE 317021 as Uber during weekends.
Residents are now leaving in fear hence calling for a rapid security support meanwhile the Central Police has commenced investigation while the body has deposited at Komfo Anokye Morgue.
