A man believed to be in his mid-thirties has been electrocuted after climbing a high-tension pole in search of crow eggs at Buokrom in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, identified only as Sena, reportedly died after coming into contact with one of the active wires on the high tension.
Speaking to OTEC FM, some residents said the incident occurred on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at about 5:00 p.m.
The Unit Committee Chairman for the area, Fuseini Farrisu, revealed that while the deceased was climbing the high tension, he was not seen by anyone until he got to the top. Some men arrived and convinced him to step down.
In the act of trying to climb down, he touched one of the wires and was electrocuted; however, before people present at the scene would offer help, he was dead.
The body was sent to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
