A 57-year-old man, Sarpong has allegedly murdered his wife for demanding a share of a cocoa farm they own at Gyametanhunu, a farming community in the Ashanti Region.
Reports suggest that Sarpong had impregnated another woman outside his marriage.
The deceased who already had four children before marrying Sarpong was not pleased about the situation upon hearing about it.
She is said to have then demanded a portion of their farm before she would allow the other woman into their home
According to reports, the couple were not seen in their home for some days prompting a neighbor to alert the Assemblyman of the area over their disappearance.
Few days later, a stench emanated from their room which led the Assemblyman for the area to also prompt the police about the situation.
The police, upon arrival managed to break into the room only to find the 55-year-old woman’s body lying lifeless in a pool of blood and almost decomposing.
The suspect is currently on the run.
