A Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor, Patricia Nimako, has been shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in a broad daylight robbery at Kofrom, a suburb of Kumasi.
According to reports, the assailants made away with GHS10,000 and several mobile phones before fleeing the scene on a motorbike. The tragic incident occurred shortly after Nimako withdrew money from the bank and returned to her MoMo container shop.
Eyewitnesses say two armed men stormed her shop and fatally shot her before looting the money and other valuables.
A video circulating online shows her lifeless body on the floor of her shop, while shocked bystanders react in disbelief.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging the public to provide any relevant information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
This incident adds to the growing concerns about the safety of Mobile Money vendors, who have increasingly become targets of armed robberies in Ghana.
