The Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Honourable Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah has donated pieces of Ghanaian fabric cloth to five hundred [500] widows in his constituency.

The donation which coincided with the Easter celebration, a time of giving and time to share love, the objective of the support was to put smiles on the faces of the widows.

In addition to the fabrics donated, the Ejisu Legislator also gave cash to the widows as their Easter gift.

Speaking during the donation, Honourable John Kumah said since some widows find it difficult in making ends meet, he will make himself available so that he can provide the beneficiaries with equal support.

He used the opportunity to admonish other Members of Parliament to also engage themselves in such benevolent activities because putting smiles on the faces of the poor and deprived must be a shared responsibility and not a sole-reserved-responsibility of a selected few in the society.

“Although the government led by H.E Akufo-Addo has already budgeted to target on Supporting the widows in our country but on our part as government officials, MPs, and even individuals who have enough to Support let us do our best.” Hon. Kumah noted

The widows were drawn from areas in the constituency, namely the Fumesua zone, Ejisu Zone and Onwe Zone. Present during the donation were Chiefs and Traditional Leaders as well as Constituency Executives who also helped to make the programme a memorable one.

The widows expressed their immense gratitude to Hon John Kumah for remembering and honouring them annually.
