A newly born baby has been found dead at a dump site at Atɛkyɛm, an area within Bechem in the Tano South constituency of the Ahafo region.
An eye witness, Prophet Robert Twum of Divine Prayers Ministry, said he saw a mentally challenged lady around the dumping site at Atɛkyɛm on his way from church duties claiming she has got a child and upon approaching the Lady, he realized it was a newly born baby who has been dumped.
He added that he called on a midwife to examine the condition of the baby whether he is alive or dead but the midwife upon arrival confirmed the death of the baby.
The Man of God has therefore pleaded with people living in and around Bechem to help unmask the wicked woman behind this unfortunate incident for the laws of the country to take its course.
The Assembly Member for Atɛkyɛm electoral Area, Hon. Appiah Joseph had a distress call in the evening around 6:00 pm on Thursday about the incident.
He quickly reported it to Bechem police command and the police have since conveyed the body to Bechem Government Hospital morgue pending investigations.
