More than 200 shops burnt to ashes. They recounted their loses to the media in an interview

The Ashanti Regional Assistant fire commander of the Ghana National fire service DO Peter Tetteh, said they had a distressed call around 11:46 last night and rushed to the scene but efforts been made by their first thunder proved futile.

There was no way to the fire point at the market so the fire got spread to the shops and we could not save nothing from the inferno.

The eyewitnesses blamed the fire fighters for reporting late to the scene.
