Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested thirty-five [35] suspected criminals following a swoop in Afigya Kwabre North District.
The Police in the capital of the Region have been on alert with regards to recent criminal activities and embarked on an operation to key hideouts of suspected criminals on August 23, 2021.
The area in recent times has been identified as a major hub and hideout for suspected criminals and narcotic drug peddlers within Afigya Kwabre North District.
The swoop took place at Boamang, Tetrem and Kyekyewere townships.
The swoop was led by the the District Police command of Afigya Kwabre North-ASP Edward Odame Agyei together with Chief Inspector. B. F. Manso, Boamang Station Officer-Inspector Daniel Twumasi and Inspector Issifu Uddrisu, Kyekyewere station Officer.
The District commander, ASP Edward Odame Agyei told the media, 10 toffees suspected to be laced with Indian herb, 60 pieces of wrapped narcotic substance suspected to be Indian herb, 5 scissors, 2 lighters, 2 fresh green leafy plant suspected to be Indian herb, 1 slab wrapped of substance suspected to be Indian herb, 44 packet of gold seal cigarettes, 9 bottles of loval gin (AKPETESHIE) with greenish colour suspected to be laced with Indian herb was retrieved from their hideout.
