Police officers from the Ashanti Regional Command has on June 3, 2025 impounded a Ford Bus stashed with huge sum of monies. The interception took place at about 4; 45 P.M on Tuesday.
The commercial vehicle was fully loaded with sixty-eight fertilizer bags containing one cedi notes and coins totaling about GHC1,021,700. Police impounded the vehicle at Juapong snap checkpoint when it was en-route to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The driver – suspect of the vehicle, Edward Ansah upon interrogation told the Police he was engaged by a certain man in Kumasi to convey the currency notes and coins from Ho in the Volta Region to him in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
The suspect is in custody assisting Police in investigations.
Police say the public will be updated on the outcome of the investigations.
