Police in Kumasi have retrieved a suspected stolen saloon car that had a baby in it after a viral social media message.

Speaking to the media, the Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, said the suspected car thieves numbering two abandoned the 2021 registered red Toyota Corolla Saloon car with the baby at Dakojom, a suburb of Kumasi, and fled into the bush upon seeing the Police Patrol vehicle.

The baby has since been reunited with the mother.

ASP Ahianyo assured members of the public of the Police Service’s resolve to protect lives and property.
