Workers at Suame Magazine, an industry hub in the Ashanti region, have appealed to the government for infrastructure development.
The regional vice chairman for the association, Mr. Lukeman Nuhu, said it is very sad that the government led by President Akufo-Addo failed to fulfill the numerous promises it made to Ghanaians.
Mr. Lukeman, in an interview, said the situation at Magazine has put them on a tighter leash since development has become deadlocked.
“Truly, we feel sad over how the current and previous government have turned deaf ears to our appeal for development and have ignored their own promises they made”.
“We are, however, calling on the government to at least give us an ambulance, construct good roads and provide us a health center since we are also taxpayers,” he added.
He further indicated that the association is in need of a training center to equip the youth who have shown interest in learning artisan skills, hence calling on the government for support.
“We need training centre to train our young ones who are interested in learning artisan. I think it will go a long way to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
We are therefore appealing to the government, donors as well as other stakeholders to give us financial support to boost this project,” he concluded.
