A suspected child kidnapper operating in and around New Edubiase has been arrested by the police.
The man believed to be in his thirties has been accused of kidnapping a two-year-old Ewura Ama at Asamanya in the New Edubease district.
According to the grandmother of the victim, her granddaughter was doing a house chores when she heard her screaming for help.
She rushed outside only to find the young girl being held by the kidnapper.
She added that, the alleged kidnapper pretended to be deaf and insane at the scene but after he was arrested by the police, he was able to speak and confessed.
“I quickly rescued my granddaughter from the man and questioned him but he pretended to be deaf.”
The suspect is currently in police custody aiding in investigations.
