Two siblings have been burnt to death in a fire outbreak at Moshie Zongo in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly of the Ashanti Region.

The victims who died in the fire have been identified as one year, six months Tahiru and nine months old girl Salma.

The fire outbreak which started at about 8:30 am on Tuesday morning spread through a single room of a family house in which the family resided.

The two siblings who were in the room and unable to escape got burnt to ashes.

The immediate cause of the fire is not known yet as fire service personnel claimed it was caused by faulty meter in the house.

“I had the call about the domestic fire outbreak in the morning. So I called the fire service to intervene. What we witnessed at the scene was that there were two children in there when the house was burning.

Unfortunately, the residents couldn’t rescue them, they all got burnt to death”. Assembly member for the area, Hon Emmanuel Nti Kyei confirmed the incident

Meanwhile, bodies of the charred bodies had been deposited at the Tafo Government Hospital Morgue.
