A/R: Two dead in gory school bus accident at Patasi

A devastating accident occurred at Patasi in the Ashanti Region, resulting in the death of two individuals and leaving one person critically injured.

The incident happened when the school bus which belongs to Palmar International School at Patasi in the Kumasi Metropolis lost control and crashed into a storey building.

The incident was said to have occurred on the eve of Monday, April 7, 2025, around 5pm.

The deceased are identified as Maame Serwaa 74 years and Alfred around the ages of 45-50 years, whereas the other who sustained injury is also identified as Wofa.

Speaking to OTEC news reporter, Sarkodie Samuel, a tenant of the house revealed that the two who are deceased were discussing on a plumbing work in the house, after Maame Serwaa invited Alfred over to check the plumbing work at the bathroom of the house.

She indicated that they were in a pub in front the house where the two were discussing about the estimate to the cost of the said plumbing work in the bathroom.

According to her, the driver stated that the brakes to the car failed which led to the incident.

“It took the intervention of the police and personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service to remove them from the trapped places,” she stated.

The incident has also destroyed lots of properties, sending shockwaves through the community.

The one who sustained injury has been sent to Suntreso government hospital for treatment, whereas the deceased has been taken to the morgue.

Police have commenced investigations into the matter, and the driver of the bus is helping in the investigations.
