The Offinso District Court in the Ashanti Region has remanded into police custody two fetish priests has been for allegedly killing a 67-years man at Amoawi in the Offinso South Municipality.
The accused, Nana Akwasi Amankwaa and Akua Asantewaa were arrested on July 14, for allegedly poisoning one Opanin Augustine Amponsah resulting in his death.
According to sources, the deceased on July 14 went to the fetish priests to seek spiritual assistance to dig out gold.
The suspected murderer Okomfo Akwasi Amankwaa allegedly offered the deceased “chicken soup” believed to be poisoned.
Opanin Augustine Amponsah after taking the soup began complaining of stomach ache and subsequently leading to his death some few minutes.
The court presided over by judge Christiana Blues upon hearing the facts on the matter remanded the two fetish priests into police custody, charging the police to do a thorough investigation into the matter.
The two are however expected to reappear on August 16.
