Barima Kumi Akyeaw III, the Chief of Abesim and Kyidomhene of the Dormaa Traditional Council, has called on Hon. Seid Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani East, to focus on completing unfinished projects initiated by his predecessor.

The chief emphasized the importance of continuity in development to foster the growth of the constituency.

The call was made during Hon. Mubarak’s “Thank You” tour in the constituency, where he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received during the general elections.

Abesim was the first stop of the tour, and the MP paid a courtesy visit to the Abesim Traditional Council to show his appreciation.

In his address, Barima Kumi Akyeaw III urged the MP not to view himself solely as a representative of his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), but as a leader serving the entire Sunyani East constituency.

He stressed that completing inherited projects would ensure that resources are not wasted and that the constituency sees tangible progress.

“Development is a shared goal, and continuity is essential. The people of Abesim and Sunyani East deserve to see the benefits of completed projects,” the chief remarked.

Hon. Mubarak, addressing the gathering at the Abesim Palace, reassured the community of his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises. He stated that his focus is on delivering for the constituency rather than seeking ministerial appointments.

“I am here to serve the people of Sunyani East, and I appeal for your continued support and cooperation to achieve the development we all desire,” the MP said.

The Abesim visit marked a symbolic start to the MP’s engagement with the community, reflecting his dedication to inclusivity and collaborative governance. Residents of the constituency remain hopeful that these efforts will translate into impactful development in the coming years.
