The Member of Parliament for the Abirem constituency, John Osei Frempong has been accused of having a hand in the bloodshed in the ongoing polling station elections at Dodoraso in the Birim North district.
The incident took place yesterday when members of the New Patriotic Party converged to witness the process.
According to reports by the NPP’s communications director of the Abirem constituency, Mr. Aaron Asiedu Antwi who spoke in a phone interview on Republic FM’s Anopa Dawuro on Wednesday, March 2, such an unfortunate and barbaric event has never happened in the constituency.
Giving a vivid details on what actually ensued, he said, this is the first time seeing a member of parliament touring polling stations with well built men.
Mr. Asiedu revealed that the constituency has Ninety-four (94) polling stations, which they had already covered 27 polling stations since the election began.
The communications director has therefore vowed that, the nephew of the MP would be punished.
He said, though, when the incident happened the MP was not at the scene but he was earlier seen at the polling station accustomed by his nephew whose name was only given as chief and is known very well in the area.
