President John Dramani Mahama has nominated an additional batch of ministers to serve in his administration, further solidifying his team for the effective governance of the country.
The list, which was released on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, through the Presidency Communications office, includes nominees for both regional and ministerial positions.
In the regional category, Puozuing Charles Lwanga was nominated as Regional Minister for Upper West, Joseph Addae Akwaboa for Bono, and Francis Owusu Antwi for Bono East.
For ministerial appointments, the President has named Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah as Minister of Defence, Samuel Nartey George, MP, for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP, for Lands and Natural Resources. Other key appointments include Kofi Iddie Adams, MP, for Sports and Recreation, and Abdul-Rashid H. Pelpuo, MP, for Labour, Jobs, and Employment.
Additional significant nominations include Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP, as Minister of Health, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, MP, for Environment, Science, and Technology, and Joseph Bukari Nikpe, MP, for Transport.
The President also nominated Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP, for Foreign Affairs, and Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, as Minister of State for Government Communications, among others.
The nominees are expected to appear before Parliament for vetting and approval, in accordance with the constitutional mandate for such appointments.
This marks the third batch of ministerial nominations as the President seeks to establish a robust team to drive his governance agenda.
