President John Dramani Mahama has presented the “Accra Reset” framework as a strategic blueprint designed to establish a fairer global economic order built on resource sovereignty, local industrialisation, equitable trade, and enhanced South-South cooperation.
Delivering an address at the 65th Anniversary High-Level Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Belgrade, Serbia, the President highlighted the urgent necessity for increased climate finance, comprehensive adaptation support, and targeted renewable energy investments across developing nations.
President Mahama noted that Ghana’s upcoming African Union (AU) Chairmanship in 2027, alongside its ongoing leadership of the African Group of Negotiators on Climate Change, will serve as vital platforms to champion and advance Africa’s collective interests on the global stage.
Addressing emerging technological shifts, he further urged member states of the Non-Aligned Movement to bridge the growing digital divide, emphasizing that developing nations must actively participate in artificial intelligence development and governance rather than remaining passive consumers.
