Daniel Asiedu, also known as “Sexy Don Don,” has denied allegations of involvement in the murder of the late Member of Parliament, J.B. Danquah, during recent court proceedings.
Represented by his counsel, Yaw Dankwah, Asiedu clarified his nickname after being referred to as “Sexy Don Don,” a nickname he claims was given to him by Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the current Inspector General of Police and former Greater Accra Regional Police Commander.
Asiedu stated, “It was Dampare who gave me that name. My name is Daniel Asiedu, and my nickname is Gucci Young Star, not Sexy Don Don.
That’s why I don’t have any tattoo of that name on my body, unlike Gucci Young Star.”
Defending his innocence, Asiedu addressed the charges, asserting he had no motive or reason to harm the MP.
“I, Daniel Asiedu, have no issues with anyone and the allegations against me are untrue. I walk freely because I bear no grievances,” he stated.
Asiedu also implied involvement from high-ranking individuals in an alleged conspiracy to implicate him in the murder.
“When the incident happened, I heard the victim’s wife wanted to share information about influential people targeting her husband, but she wasn’t allowed to reveal it.
These big people have conspired to entangle me in this tragedy.
I was not involved in JB Danquah’s death.”
Asiedu who has concluded his evidence-in-chief without calling witnesses is currently under cross-examination from the prosecution.
The trial will resume tomorrow November 14, 2024.
