Acting Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection tours LEAP payment sites in Accra

As part of Monitoring activities of the ongoing LEAP Grant Payment Exercise (73rd and 74th Cycles) across the country, the Caretaker Minister for the Ministry of Gender children and Social Protection, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah also conducted a monitoring exercise on Friday, 5th November, 2021.

Accompanied by the Chief Director and some staff of the Ministry, they visited some LEAP payment points namely; Amamorley, Asofan, Fise and Amanfrom in the Greater Accra Region.

The monitoring exercise by the Minister was to observe payment process in order to acquire first hand information and insights into the LEAP programme.

Addressing beneficiaries and the media, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah indicated that the LEAP programme seeks to smoothen household consumption, promote productive inclusion and enhance access to social services.

Also, the intervention from the LEAP Programme seeks to stimulate behavioral change in beneficiaries against the malaise of persistent poverty ultimately enabling Ghana to attain her national development Goals as well as the Global Sustainable Development Goals.

The Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) is one of the flagship social protection programme of the Government of Ghana.
