A 73-year-old man, Adam Mahama, has been stabbed to death as a result of a misunderstanding over the ownership of a fowl.

The incident is believed to have happened on February 20, 2023, in Salaga, in the northern part of the country.

According to sources, a misunderstanding erupted between two families over the legitimate ownership of a fowl, which led to the two groups brandishing guns, cutlasses, and knives.

One Mr. Adam Mahama, who returned from the farm and was getting ready for his evening meal, sought to be a peacekeeper by separating the fuming groups.

His attempt to seek peace by separating the fighting groups unfortunately resulted in one of them stabbing him, which subsequently resulted in his death.

His death angered the youth in the area, who decided to set ablaze the house and property of the supposed thugs.

Information gathered indicates that animals belonging to the two groups were killed in cold blood, with others being burned in the blazing fire.

Meanwhile, the group that is believed to have stabbed Mr. Mahama is on the run.

The police have, however, refused to comment on the issue but have stated that they have started investigations into the matter and are hoping to get positive results.
