Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia will start teaching Kiswahili, Africa’s most spoken language with 140 million speakers worldwide.

Kiswahili is spoken in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, DR Congo, Comoros, Rwanda, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Burundi.

It is taught in universities in USA, The Netherlands, Canada, Italy and Germany.

It is part of South Africa’s curriculum.

Botswana has also announced plans to teach Kiswahili in schools.
