The Disciplinary Board of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has imposed a $15,000 fine on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after Black Stars’ supporters misconducted themselves at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
This comes after reports that fans of the Black Stars and supporters of Cape Verde were engaged in a scuffle during their first Group B match on Sunday, January 14, 2023.
The GFA is expected to to pay the fine within 60 days of the date of the decision.
A statement released by the GFA said “The Ghana Football Association will liaise with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, under whose authority the supporters traveled to the tournament, and the leadership of the supporters groups to avoid any future occurrence.”
