Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, has taken the blame for Ghana’s abysmal performance following a 2-2 draw against Mozambique on Monday night.
Chris Hughton’s men gave away a two-goal lead in stoppage time, dashing their hopes of making it to the next stage of the competition.
During his press conference after the game, the 65-year-old acknowledged that his team hasn’t performed well enough to compete.
“If you ask me about the results and the performances, we have not been good. I have a group of players that came here and wanted to compete really well but for results that we’ve had in these three games, i am the head coach, and i will always take responsibility,” he said.
After three games in the group stage, the Black Stars have only two points, and sit third in the group B, failing to secure automatic qualification.
Cape Verde topped the group with 7 points whiles Egypt finished second with three points.
