The Black Stars of Ghana secured a point in their 2-2 draw against Egypt in second group B match on Thursday night at the Felix Houphouet -Boigny Stadium.
Mohammed Kudus was on target for Ghana, scoring twice in a four-goal thriller.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring with a sublime long range effort just a minute to the end of the first half, to give the Black Stars an advantage at the break.
After the break, Ghana had dropped in intensity and began to give the ball away, helping Egypt to come back into the game.
Omar Marmoush got the equalizer for the pharaoh’s on the 69th minute after Ghana’s striker mistakenly gave away a back pass.
However, the West Ham talisman, set up by Dennis Odoi, sent Ghana up again just two minutes after to complete his double of the night.
Ghana’s defence seemed to have kept things tighter but another mistake from Osman Bukari who failed to clear the ball from danger led to Mohammed Trezeguet getting the equalizer for Egypt.
The results means the Black Stars still sit bottom of Group B with just a point, and is set to play their last group game against Mozambique on Monday.
