Black Stars midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, has blamed Ghana’s 2-2 draw on loss of concentration by the team.
Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew scored twice from a spot kick in both halves of the game, uplifting the hopes of the team qualifying into the Round of 16 of the competition.
However, at stoppage time, Geny Catamo and Reinildo Mandava scored two quick goals in the space of three minutes to deny Ghana an automatic qualification.
Addressing the media in his post match press conference, the West Ham star man said it is unacceptable to be conceding goals in such manner.
“Today, we lost the game by losing the focus. We were up 2-0 in the last four minutes of the game and we can’t lose two goals like that. It just lack of concentration in the last minute. we saw it against Egypt, some easy goals you know so we need to keep our focus in the last part of games. We easily lose concentration and is very disappointing,” he lamented.
Ghana’s campaign in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been very disappointing, picking only two points from three matches in the group stage.
As it stands, the Black Stars sit third in Group B, and hopes to secure qualification as of one of the third best teams depending on the outcome of the rest of the matches.
