Black Stars forward, Afena Gyan was the star man yesterday night, as his last penalty spot-kick helped Cremonese to eliminate Napoli in the Coppa Italia.
Cremonese took the lead early in through Charles Pickel after Napoli failed to deal with the counter-attacking threat of the visitors.
Napoli turned things around very quickly with just 15 minutes to end the first half to score two goals in two minutes to give the home team a 2-1 advantage in the first half.
However, Afena Gyan who was introduced into the game in the 65th minute scored a powerful header in the 86th minute to send the game into extra time.
After the match travelled into a penalty shootout, Stanislav Lobotka missed Napoli’s fourth spot-kick, while Cremonese scored all five.
Ghana’s Afena Gyan was the star man as he beautifully placed the last spot-kick into the post to see his side move to the quarter-final.
Cremonese will face AS Roma in the quarter-final.
