Nana Owusu Peprah II, Chief of Amoah -Apagya (Apagyahene) in the Afigya Kwabere South District of the Ashanti Region has expressed concerns over the rise of robbery cases in his community.
The chief blames the rampant robbery cases on the Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabere South, William Owuraku Aidoo, as a result of the unavailability of electricity at the various new sites of the community.
The Apagyahene explains, the MP during his campaign tour in 2020 brought electricity cables to extend power to all parts of the community.
However, “as of now, the cables are still lying on the ground, the MP has not even stepped a foot in this community to check if it has been fixed. Armed robbers have since used the opportunity to hide in the dark and attacking my people, inflicting wounds on them and bolting with their belongings almost everyday.”
“I’m not going to beg the MP to come over and fix the electricity. If he deems it appropriate, that’s fine.” Nana Owusu Peprah II told the press in an exclusive interview.
The Apagyahene has however called on the police to tighten up security in his community.
In order news the Apagyahene has expressed strong displeasure over the deplorable road that links Amoah-Apagya and Kodie- the district capital of Afigya Kwabere South.
The chief claims, the MP and DCE for the area are not helping to fix the terrible road, for this reason President Akufo-Addo should as a matter of urgency assist to construct it.
