Afigya Kwabre North DCE distributes 12,000 oil palm, coconut seedlings to boost agriculture

Emmanuel Jackson Agumah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre North, has distributed 12,000 oil palm and coconut seedlings to farmers in the district in line with the government’s agenda to boost agriculture and improve livelihoods.

About 400 farmers from various communities within the district benefited from the distribution exercise, held at the district assembly.

Speaking at a short ceremony, Emmanuel Jackson Agumah announced plans to collaborate with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture(MoFA) to scale up the distribution of oil palm and coconut seedlings in the district.

He noted the government’s vision was to position Ghana as the hub for food production in the sub-region.

Abigail Fokuo, the District Director of Agriculture, commended the initiative, describing it as a vital step towards making oil palm and coconut abundantly available within the next few years.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government and DCE for their support.
