The Nyinahin District Court has sentenced a 41-year-old pastor of the African Faith Tabernacle Church to 24 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling his 14-year-old biological daughter.
The convict, Paul Nkansah, was charged with defilement and incest. He pleaded guilty to both charges.
Delivering judgment, the presiding judge, Mrs. Patricia Amponsah, sentenced him to 22 years for defilement and 24 years for incest. The sentences are to run concurrently.
Inspector Regina Oparebea, the Police Prosecutor, told the court that Nkansah had previously been convicted and jailed 20 years for defilement at Akim Oda. That sentence was later reduced to 15 years on appeal.
