The Agave Development Association has visited the Akosombo Dam slippage areas to donate some items to two communities within the South Tongu constituencies, Tuanikofe and Kporntey on November 1.

According to the Agave Development Association, the focus is not on donating solely to the two communities mentioned. They wish they could have reached out to all affected communities, but the economic hardship in the country is not permitting them.

Members of the association lamented that some concerned individuals in and out of the association saw the need for almsgiving and decided to raise some funds to assist the affected communities in this crucial moment of their lives.

the following relief items were donated to two communities, 4 bags of 5×4.5kg rice, One bag of 50kg maize and 100 bags of sachet water

In an interview with two members of the association, Mr. Adjin and Adjadji, they said, “The Agave Development Association took it upon itself to sympathise with our friends displaced with these items as a sign and proof of ADA’s sympathy. Though the items are inadequate to cater for them, they can be managed. The relief items were handed over to five opinion leaders in the two communities to be shared among only those displaced by the flood, without discrimination.

Agave Development Association is calling on various NGO’s, churches, governments, and individuals to make it a joint effort to come to the aid of the affected communities. They urged members of the affected communities to know that they are with them and will continue to help them in these hard times.

The representatives of the Agave Development Association (ADA) who presented the relief items on behalf of the group are Mr. Lewis Adjin, Madam Evelyn Goni, and Anthony Adjadji. The following people also accompanied the ADA team: Mama Kakator Aga II and her cousin, Ms. Lizy Aga.
