Preliminary investigations indicate that on June 1, 2026, at approximately 03:30 hours, a person named Samuel Kingsford Kwofie reported hearing cries for help near the School B area close to the Fire Service Station in Agona Nkwanta.

Upon approaching the scene, he found the victim, Olivia Kwofie, naked with her hands and legs bound. As he escorted her to the police station, the suspect attacked them, striking the victim with a cement block before fleeing.

The police responded promptly, finding the victim in a pool of blood with multiple facial cuts. Despite medical attention at the Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic, the victim was pronounced dead. On June 2, 2026, the Regional Police Intelligence team, in collaboration with Agona Nkwanta Police, arrested the suspect at his Nsuaem hideout.

The suspect was arraigned before the Apollo Circuit Court in Takoradi on June 3, 2026, and was remanded into prison custody, with a scheduled reappearance on June 17, 2026.
