Over 18 individuals have been injured while five others are in critical condition, battling for their lives.

A preliminary report obtained by Republic Online suggested a truck fully loaded with coconuts rammed into a crowd that had gathered for 2025 Agona Asafo Akwanbo festival in Swedru, the Municipal capital of Agona West in the Central Region. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday night, August 29.

Emergency teams have assisted the injured and conveyed them for medical support at the  Agona West Municipal Hospital in Swedru.

An images intercepted shows scores of individuals critically submerged by the incident with varying degrees of injuries, with some having their knees and shoulders being fractured and dislocated.

Police is yet to issue official communique to establish what occurred.
