Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, joined forces with Jeroen Verheul, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ghana, to commemorate the annual Cocoa Food Fair in a vibrant celebration held in Accra.
The Cocoa Food Fair, a highlight of Orange Week festivities, takes place every April in honour of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander’s birthday and the Dutch National Day.
In a symbolic gesture marking the commencement of the event, Dr. Acheampong spearheaded a cocoa tree planting ceremony at the embassy premises, emphasizing the significance of sustainable agriculture.
Ambassador Verheul underscored the importance of Orange Week as more than just a festivity, but a platform to reaffirm the enduring partnership and shared priorities between Ghana and the Netherlands.

This year’s Orange Week, themed around cocoa, aims to showcase the economic vitality of the cocoa industry for both nations while celebrating the rich cultural heritage surrounding cocoa in Ghana and the Netherlands.
Attendees were treated to a diverse array of locally crafted cocoa and chocolate products, amplifying brand awareness for Ghanaian cocoa and chocolate enterprises.”
