Ahafo Region: Man dies after allegedly being hit in the head with stick

A 34-year-old man has died after he was allegedly hit with a stick in the head following a misunderstanding that ensued between him and a private forest guard at Mim in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.

A 34-year-old man has died after he was allegedly hit with a stick in the head following a misunderstanding that ensued between him and a private forest guard at Mim in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.

According to the report, the deceased, Richard Agoante (Malik), a tractor operator arrived at the private forest concession checkpoint and in the process there was a heated argument between him and the guards. One of the guards hit him with a stick in the head and he fell unconscious.

Those around him rushed him to Ahamadiyah Hospital at Mim, but he was pronounced dead after a few minutes of arrival.

The Mim District Police Command has arrested one man who is suspected to be part of the private forest guards for further investigation.

The suspected murderer is currently on the run.
