The National President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), Dr. Kasser Tee, has emphasized the critical role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern marketing.

In his address at the 35th CIMG Annual National Marketing Performance Awards, Dr. Tee highlighted the urgency and relevance of AI in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

AI, he noted, is not just a passing trend but a paradigm shift that requires marketers and business leaders to engage actively and strategically. By leveraging AI, marketers can better understand their customers, personalize their experiences, and anticipate their needs with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

Dr. Tee pointed out that AI enhances efficiency, creativity, and decision-making processes in marketing, and is reshaping industries and redefining marketing practices.

He called on businesses to explore the potential of AI, which offers significant benefits for those willing to embrace it.

The adoption of AI in marketing has been shown to increase customer satisfaction by 15% and reduce marketing costs by 20%, according to a McKinsey study.

Additionally, AI contributes significantly to the global economy, with a 2017 PWC report estimating its contribution to be up to $15.7 trillion by 2030.

Dr. Tee also emphasized the importance of predictive analytics in forecasting trends and customer needs, allowing marketers to adapt strategies in real-time. However, he cautioned that with great power comes greater responsibility, and urged marketers to uphold high standards of integrity and transparency when leveraging AI.

The 35th CIMG awards honored over 54 marketers and organizers, with David Eduaful and Nana Akua Mensa-Bonsu being awarded the CIMG Marketing Man and Woman of the Year, respectively.
