Social media sensation, Akuapem Poloo, on Wednesday returned to Nsawam Prisons, this time not as a prisoner but as a benefactor.

She was there to donate food items to inmates of the prison as part of her son’s birthday on June 30, 2021.

In April 2021, Poloo was handed a 90 days jail sentence by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour Christina Cann, for posting naked pictures of herself and her son on social media.

But she was granted bail after appeal application at the high court.  As part of her bail condition, she has to report to the case investigator every two weeks and further deposit her passport with the registrar of the court.

The court, presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey said, she will only travel with the express permission of the court.

According to Poloo, returning to prison to donate was a promise she made to herself.

Among the food items she donated include bags of rice, water, tubers of yam, gallons of oil, cartons of soft drinks, toiletries and other items.

She said she chose to return to the prisons due to the experiences she went through when she was an inmate, revealing officers in the prison were nice to her.

“I learnt a lot when I got here. I met my sister here and I realised food is a problem because they are plenty. They are not only one. It’s not easy to even take care of one person. Even me when I am home I eat three times a day. So I decided to bring them foodstuff and water to drink so they can relax as I was also being patient and for God to listen to my prayers and rescue me though my case is not over. I still pray to God that He will see me through. Before I left I made a promise to donate to the same prison where they brought me because the officers treated me very good. I won’t lie (sic),” she indicated.
